WebTrends alternatives

What's the opinion of people here on mid-range alternatives to WebTrends?

Hi,

I recently went to upgrade my old WebTrends to the latest version but found that the licensing model had changed from server-based to page view-based. Since I'm getting 2 to 3 million views a month, this meant that the cost went through the roof and is now unaffordable.

Is there a mid-range alternative to WebTrends?

What's the opinion of people here on some of the other products in the market?

Seems like there's a bewildering range ... I'd appreciate some help narrowing down my search to a few respected products.

Thanks!

Hi again cgrantski,

Thanks for the link ... actually I was looking more for opinion than an exhaustive list of what's out there.
Is there anything that's of the calibre of WebTrends (in people's opinion) but without so many whistles and bells and that doesn't cost an arm and a leg?
My budget is up to approx. $5k so I'm not necessarily looking for freeware either.

Cheers,

-Daragh.

I looked over that link that cgrantski sent and noticed that Clicktracks looked like the best. I wonder if anyone has had any problems with them?

A lot of people LOVE Clicktracks and we've liked it a lot when we've used it. A lot of what Hotsnot is calling bells and whistles are major versatility features ... what I'm saying is that Clicktracks is not very flexible. But I hope you will look at it very seriously, personally.

It was announced yesterday that they have been bought by somebody else, an organization that is very e-mail oriented. Sometimes an acquisition means a fresh injection of resources and the product becomes a lot better. Sometimes it means the beginning of the end, for example if they want to fold it in to their email products and terminate its standalone status. You might want to check into what they are promising the public, although usually these immediate announcements are meant to reassure more than tell the truth.
