Hello,

Since 3-4 days I'm seeing weird visits in my logs, see the image below:

I'm seeing such visitors at every 5-10 minutes, from different IPs, but *all* of them have the same Agent "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.5; Windows 98)".

Also, if I move the mouse over the "referer" (i.e. "http://www.MySite.com/links/../linkexchange.html") the link is "http://www.MySite.com/linkexchange.html" and that link really exists. And the link of my visited address (with the title "/links/../") is the root of my site.

I really don't understand what happens. It's not a DDoS, as the requests take place at ~ 10 minutes.

Did anyone see something similar?

Thanks,
xt

I have one page that (for the last few days) is being fetched 500 times a day, from different IP addresses. The referer is "-" and the user agent is "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1; SV1; .NET CLR 1.1.4322)".

I assume this is some kind of robot, given the identical user agent and lack of any referer, but I can't work out what it could be. There are no ads on the page in question, but could it be a clickbot network trying to cover its traces by visiting other sites?
