Trying to identify page views that cause 404's.

I use AXS visitor statistics.

Hi,
I'm trying to find a way of logging the page visitors are looking for which causes my 404 error page to load.

I haven't got access to my raw log files and use Fluid Dynamics AXS script, which works well for everything else.

NB. I did post this thread before I realised this would have been a more appopriate forum [webmasterworld.com...]

Thanks in advance.

FWIW:

I've found that changing my AXS code to standard JavaScript rather than using the SSI code gives me the actual page being requested.

I guess no one else here uses AXS though...

are you using PHP? if so I have a pretty good script I use on some of my sites that allows you to get an email with details of every 404 on your site :)

let me know if you all are interested
