I've seen this in a few traffic analyzers, that shows a Geo Map, one of them is Google Analytics.
In all of them, Russia only shows a point on Moscú.
All the rest of this big country has no dots.
Why this?
Is there really noone with internet conection there?

it could be that almost all russian connections have their service ports and IP registrations all out of Moscow. Or, alternatively, a large percent of the Russian population could be using something like Freedom to mask their geo-location. I know it sounds far-fetched but if everyone in Russia has the "same" kind of internet access, this may be more likely than we would initially think.

Russia = communist. Communist = goverment controlled services. Government controlled services = centralized admin locations. Centralized admin locations = possibility of all ip's in russia being "said" to be based out of Moscow.

Its just a theory, but worth thinking about.

Or just no data in geo maps.

Hi everybody! You see an alien here from other planet... oh, no, another Galaxy: RUSSIA.
Ok. Now, seriously )) We don't live in communist country - move away your stereotypes. I'm from Yaroslavl, it's 400km from Moscow. It's true a lot of common users have low modem connection at home which are provided by a few providers. It's a common thing for periphery. But there're plenty of IT companies here. Do you think they are all controlled by Mr President Putin?
