Web log analysis software showing odd results

We have been trying to analyse the paths through our web site, to gain a better understanding of how it is being used. But the web log analysis software we are using (123LogAnalyser) has been giving some odd results.

To check it out, I ran a test by going to the site myself and following the same path 5 times. I downloaded the web log and checked that my visits were recorded in it, then ran the analysis again. The path was not reported.

I downloaded trial versions of several other programs and ran the same log through them. They all gave similar results to 123, and none of them reported the path I had followed.

Has anyone else experienced odd results from this type of software? Is there some valid reason why it might have omitted my visit? And can anyone give any useful hints on conducting (and interpreting) this type of analysis?

Thanks

Those things usually have rules behind them that explain wacky results. Can you give your real path and what gets reported, and the difference (in case it's not obvious)? Or are you saying that your path wasn't there at all?

I'm assuming your real path showed perfectly in the logs.
