Hey guys,

First time posting, long time watcher.

I own a significant commercial sized website. A few months ago I became interested in SEO, after optimizing the entire site, including the affiliate program.
I am now looking for a good piece of software that will allow me to track the spiders as they enter and index the site.
I have the normal AWstats installed but that is not sufficient, I want a detailed overview of the spiders progress through the website.

Any suggestions on what (commercial/freeware) software to use for this purpose?

Andrew,

In my experience with NetTracker, they have the most robust and flexible reporting on Robots/Spiders. There is a report that shows which Robots and Spiders that have come to the site but any data that is included in that report is NOT included in the other data metrics. They also allow you to modify the list if you would like.

my two cents,
Tony

Thanks a lot for your imput Tony. This is an all inclusive statistics generator. Are there any packages specifically for SEM purposes? F.e. that track each bot through the website, and give you a clear overview off where its been and where it stopped?
