Deliberately blocking a URL?

I recently picked up a new client, who's site we have built and we also host it through a reseller account.

The client works from various locations about town. From just one of these locations he cannot see his site.

We ran a route trace from the location in question, and the path stopped on a domain that is owned by his ex-webdesigners...

Is it possible that there is foul play involved or is it just a coincidence?

Or a VERY stale DNS server somewhere in that path...

nslookup will tell you what server you got dns info for a domain from.

How long ago did you take over the domain? It is rumored that some dns servers don't update themselves for days or weeks on end.

It's been well over two months.

they can see every other site on the server. It's a shared server so all the same IPs.

Seems like a pretty crazy coincidence that the enemies website is the last on the tracert list before it fails.
