What kind of server and network bandwith do you need to record clickstreams ?
I mean not only on your own server but accross all website.
A little bit like Google that record clickstream to provide PageRank data to the toolbar or Alexa that record clickstream to build list of related websites.

Depends entirely on the level of traffic you are talking. If you are using a good app on the server side (pure c, optimized), then most any average box should be able to keep up with up to 500k clicks per day. Afterall, we are talking very little bandwidth (under 100bytes per transaction both ways). I have a site on a cohosted server that tracks 100k clicks per day with ease (kicker: from perl).

I dream but imagine my toolbar was as widespread as Google toolbar ...
(I don't know their number of user but I expect a "viral" distribution of the toolbar I'm working on.)
