Referring URL

I use target="_blank" in the A tags in order to get the target web site opened in a new browser window. Now, the site for which I am doing this is saying that very few people have clicked on the ad. He gets this info from looking at the Referring URL's in his webstats.

Now is it possible that because of the target="_blank", the fact that the click comes from my site is not recorded? Does it get classified as - (Direct Request)?

off the top of my head I am not totally sure but I would guess that you wouldn't get those referals.

test it in your own logs and see
