I use a JS/PHP code bit that gets the document.referrer info and stores it. What is interesting is the same referrer doesn't show up in the apache logs. The user agent used was: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i686; en-US; rv:1.7.3) Geck
o/20041007 Galeon/1.3.17 (Debian package 1.3.17-2)

Have any of you found such stuff in your logs? Any ideas what is causing this.. or how it is caused?

At the introduction of SP2, there was plenty of second guessing about how it may/may not impact our efforts at tracking referrals/search terms etc. Have any of you noticed any such trend.. or is it too soon to ask?

Thanks guys.

This just sounds like somebody is using a privacy filter that masks the referer field, or (in this case) replaces it with the text of the users choice.

Nothing to worry about, but like you say - a pain from a tracking point of view.
