Over months or years, I periodically get spidered by this crawler: www.almaden.ibm.com/cs/crawler. They go away and come back again. I never see any referrals like I would expect from a regular search engine. Any ideas what their purpose is? This must be costing them money. Almaden is a district of San Jose, CA and IBM is all over San Jose. I live 25 miles to the north.
Thanks Span. I see this is old news. IBM crawls the web for private searches that only their company and clients can use. Too bad I can't see how my site ranks in their serps.
Interesting. Still, if its in use, I would expect a few referrals, and I just don't see any unless referrer is blanked out as sometimes happens. -LH
