Hi all,

I'm looking for a software efficient with IP Resolving process in order to qualify my website visitors.
All WebSites analysis software, free or not free, have features to resolve IP addresses but the results aren't so good for my hierarchy.

I've been told that WebTrends has a good technique to determine the domain name of companies visiting a site.

Is it true?
if not can you please send me some references of software that can perform it efficiently.

Thanks for your help.

Subsidiary question:
Is it possible to get the email address of a visitor without a form process?

It's true that WebTrends can use either standard DNS IP resolution or a special database of its own called GeoTrends. Geotrends seems to increase the number and accuracy of resolved IPs by quite a lot and also, at least for the USA, gives much better geographic information even for national ISPs. I don't know how they do it but I think it's a partnership they have with one of the huge outfits like Akamai. I don't personally know of any other vendors that have anything like it, but I should think that WebTrends isn't the only one. GeoTrends may not be available with all versions of WebTrends. Not sure.

As for the subsidiary question, I'm fairly sure that email addresses cannot be obtained except through a form. This question gets asked by many people and I don't remember seeing any answers other than "no."

Hi cgrantski,

Thanks for your inputs.
I'll take a look at GeoTrends to see if it's the solution for my concern.
