When I checked the whois I found this remarks section:
descr: Internet Service Provider
descr: DSL Customer Network
I'm a Network Administrator at Tiscali these
remarks: IP's are in use by our customers, so:
remarks: - "I" did *not* hack your computer
remarks: - "I" did *not* sent you SPAM or virus
remarks: - "I" will *not* read your abuse complaints
remarks: If a customer has sent you one of the above
remarks: send an abuse notifications ONLY
remarks: to: abuse@xx.nl
I've never seen remarks like these before and I find it offensive. This kind of attitude is rare, right?
Honestly though, isn't that attitude odd for an ISP? (at least publicly?) If it had been a plain old website or even a web host I might laugh it off (as I banned them from my site). But this is an Internet Service Provider- although I have no way of knowing how big or small they may be or what their market is. Am I naive to think ISP's should be on a higher standard? To leave remarks like that which are open to public view seems foolhardy.
I'd say that, at least the information is accurate (if you disregard the tone). It's probably those issues that cause most email to be sent in the wrong direction, ie. to the network admin/hostmaster in stead of their abuse department, so it should be there.
Still, the wording could easily be a little more polite :)
