Hi, we are running serveral web marketing campaigns (goto.com, verticalnet, etc) and I am tasked with tracking the leads (and views) from these sites. We use NetTracker as the traffic tool, any ideas on how to get this done?

One idea is the path summary, but since this is not a full time job of mine, I don't hve the time to do that.

Any ideas?

You can create a filter in NT based on the initial referrer, and then add an additional page filter that restricts the data to a specific page or directory.

The page you would use would be vwhat ever page constitutes the completion of the desired action. If for example, you have an ecommerce site, you would use your "thank you for ordering" page.

If you set it up properly, you should be able to see the referral info for everyone who bought something.

Here is how to track things like this. Your need web tracking software that can track a campaign. Within the campaign you might want to track the referrer and banner or the email that brings a person to your site.

Normally the url has these things coded: www.mycomputer.com/track.asp?c=campaign1&b=banner1&go=home.html

The script track.asp records a hit to campaign1, a hit to banner1 and then redirects to the page name in the go code.

Several companies can do things like this including the top of the line products at Web Trends and Hitbox.

Exactly right.
The use of NetTracker filters does a good job of this

Why do you use inital referral rather than say entry point? Do you find the filtering to work right?

Maybe I'm not quite clear on the original question, but if your goal is to determine which marketing campaign is producing the best results, you will need to track referral information, not entry points.

It's always good to know what pages people are entering your site through, but that doesn't provide any indication of where they were before they got to your site.
