"test" from 129.34.20.19 requested a product page with all the target page name info in lowercase, which 404'd - 2 seconds later, it loaded the real page with the correct mix of upper/lowercase...

I'd suggest it was someone like me winding you up but the IP's pretty obscure and resolves to a really arbitrary domain.

I guess you could email them, I'd love to know what they're up to if it's not just an employee...

The initial browser was test.

This one came by a few months ago. I think there was actually a post from one of the almaden team explaining that a number of parties use their network as an R&D platform.
