Hola Everyone,

I'm currently shopping around for ASP non server log site analytics tools. Just got finished with a WebEx demo from HitBox (from WebSideStory) and I wanted to get a list of their direct competitors (which they couldn't give me...go figure). I really like their services, but would like to compare pricing with other companies.

Saludos,
Thanks for your help!

Omniture Site Catalyst
Coremetrics Eluminate
WebTrends On-Demand

are three.

Hitbox people are funny that way.

Thanks cgrantski,

And could you tell me how these companies compare to HitBox? Does hitbox lack anything? Do they excel compared to other solutions?

Thnx,

-Stealth

That's a really hard question to answer. Each has its own strengths and weaknesses, in the program as well as the support. I've seen large companies abandon each of these at one point or another. Unfortunately the real issues, the ones that are show-stoppers, often don't show up until you actually use the program with your data or with a trial data set. There are always little details they "forgot" to tell you about like limits or funky algorithms behind the calculations, or oddball ways of delimiting visits or, worst of all, those surprise "the program will do that but only if you pay customizing fees" statements. I don't mean to sound negative because each of these issues is probably an advantage for some of their customers. If there's serious money at stake, I'd insist on getting access to real data in a full working environment, with access to all the admin features, not just the reports. And if your setup is going to be unusual, get a guarantee in writing that it will work.

Oh, I thought other Hitbox competitors - Doubleclick has one - I think it's called Site Advance. Sophus 3 is big in Europe and the auto industry. DigiMine also, though it may have changed its name and may not be ASP.

Digimine is now called Revenue Science. Other large ASP non-logfile players are:

Touch Clarity
Red Sheriff
NedStat

All three of the above are direct competitors to WebSideStory primarily in UK/Europe.
