Hi Everyone,

My day to day work demands that I know some gritty details of the patterns of traffic to my clients' sites and whilst I can get these details from industial-strength products such as WebAbacus, many of my clients cannot or won't justify the expense of these products. Which leaves me and them with a challenge that simply isn't met by the LiveStats of the world.

So my requirements for the subtleties of a cost-effective web stats tool are below. Anyone got any good suggestions?

1. Easy exclusions of I.P. address ranges.
2. Easy exclusions by user-agent
3. Easy exclusion of internal referrers
4. Search phrase tracking by (SE) referrer (keyword tracking is not good enough).
5. Easy tracking or filtering by user-agent (need to know where the crawlers are going)

That'll do for now. Boy do I wish there are some answers out there....

Thanks in advance.

Steve

Analog will do most of that if you are creative with the CONFIG file.

awstats covers most of that. It's pretty good with exclusions from what I remember (haven't excluded much lately), I never get internal referals with my setup (pretty close to stock), it does phrases as well as keywords however it doesn't do the user agent tacking you're looking for.

I love awstats, it can do most of what you said and if not I'm sure someone has developed a plugin for what you need. its all open source and free! Its on sourceforge if u need to download it.

I think weblog expert pro will do all that. You have to set up everything and use windows scheduling but you can have it run on as many websites as you want. I have it generate hundreds of reports every night.
