Good Stats Programs?

The free one I'm using is clearly failing, so I need an affordable solution

I'm the owner of a small retail website and am very unsatisfied with the statistic tracking mechanism provided to me by my hosting company. It's obviously important to me (like any webmaster) to be able to get an accurate depiction of what's going on my website. I found out about a company called Urchin, but they're unfortunately somewhat out of my budget. Do any of you know a solid stats program available for a reasonable cost, particularly something that can be "rented" on a monthly basis instead of purchased for a high one-time cost? Please keep in mind that I don't need anything overly fancy (as in affiliate tracking and that kind of thing), but simply something that can tell me basic information such as how many people visited my site during any given day, how many hits each page in my site has received, where the people who have visited my site were referred from, and what they did once they got to my site? If anyone has any ideas, they'd be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I've always been happy with iWebTrack. As a former user of WebTrends Live and Hitbox I gotta say they're the best I've used for a hosted solution. They just came out with an ASP component too so if your site is on a Windows server you don't have to put the tracking code on your page you can just use the component to send the hit data to their server on the back-end.

SmartStats is free for use on one site. Comes with free e-mail support as well. Hope that helps.

My host is selling urchin for a one time set up fee of $1 and no monthly charge. Not too bad, but you can only use it on their servers and not take it with you if you leave. You may want to check around.

I use the inbuilt tracking on my ecommerce software and also StatsNow for real time logging. It works really well and lets me see the whole path through the site and which pages visitors view. Also alerts me to a possible order as I can see the viewcart.asp page being called.

You might take a look at Statcounter. It's a free service with lots of options. So far I'm impressed.
