Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 5.01; Windows 95; BCD2000)

I got that it is MSIE 5.01 running on Win 95. But what is "BCD2000". I am guessing it is a toolbar or some such, but I cannot find reference to it anywhere. I have seen this extension in alot of different OS / Browser combos (all Win/IE though) so it is not just related to IE 5.

There is a computer retailer called BCD2000 - they could be installing a customized version of IE on the systems they sell.

Often times you'll see Compaq, Dell, Toshiba, Road Runner, etc. in the User_Agent because those companies install custom browsers. While I don't know for sure, my guess is that BCD2000 is doing the same. Anyone can make one with a development kit that you can download from Microsoft.

It's kind of a neat way to see if the visitors to your site are using a computer you've sold them :)

Makes sense to me. Thanks for the tip. One more thing to be on the look out for.
