Hello,

My web host archives log files compressed into .gz files by month. The March file is twice as large as normal. When I run it in Fast Stats, it crashes the program. I tried extracting the file so that I could split the month in half, but it crashed my extraction program. Any ideas?

If it is crashing Faststas AND the extraction program, it may be a corrupted file.

What Receptional said. Try downloading it once again. It could have happened during transfer. Else, if you can access a Mac, Stuffit and BBedit can sometimes save your day (month).

How large is the file?

The file is 514 megs. Tried downloading it again. Same result. Tried extracting it on a Mac, it crashed the Mac. I guess the source file is corrupt?

Unfortunatly, it seems so. I hope someone can help with a solution.

snip - Oops - had a thought but then remembered your file was unzippable.
