Hi,

I'm running WebTrends 8 and 7.0C.

Today I get this nice press release about NETIQ releasing a new generation of "Web Trends 7 (Software + On Demand)" which comes in 3 flavors: Enterprise, Professional and Small Business.

Is this 'new' release more like 8 or 7.0C?

They do say you can get it as software or as a service.

This looks pretty good - is anyone using it?

I took a quick glance today and it really looks cool. I especially like that conversion tracking also is included in the small business packet (must be equiv. to Log Analyzer).

I believe the version number refers to the reporting center series where the earlier edition was 6.x.

I got a pretty thorough look at the WebTrends conference last week and it's VERY interesting. And yes 7.0 refers to the number relative to WRC 6.x. The product names are being changed en masse, with the same version number for all of them (7) and the term "Log Analyzer" will no longer be used. I forget the new nomenclature and will post it here when I bring in my notes.

I was mainly paying attention to the WRC-level products but it looked like the former "Log Analyzer" is going to get a bunch more features that were previously available only in the higher editions. As far as I could tell, they added awesome new stuff to the top of the line and bumped previously top-line features down to the lower versions, so everybody wins.

Ah, well, reading earlier posts ... yes those are the new levels --- Small Business (formerly Log Analyzer), Professional, and the top level is Enterprise. What was formerly the "Service" and/or "Live" (the reporting that's hosted by WebTrends) is going to be renamed "On Demand."
