Hi, I have an affiliate site selling this and that. The traffic was quite small but it generated 1 or 2 sales per day which is enough to pay for the site til I get time to work on it. Thing is, the clicks have shot up by 300% but the sales have gone completely.
The only thing I have changed is to open links in the same window rather than a new one.

Parasite paranoia is beginning to kick in. There doesn't seem to be anything out of the ordinary in the logs except for something about a dialer.

Anyone?
Thanks
Ska

Your logs should tell U where the extra visitors come from. That's a start to finding out what is happening.

Just a hypothesis...

WebBots clogging it up? Some detailed log analysis should shed light on that.

When did this change occur?
I suspect google is sending more general traffic to commercial sites for general keywords, whilst showing rubbish directories in the SERP for the more commercial keywords.

The conspiracy theorist in me says its a strategy to get more people to buy Adwords.
