Based on feedback in this forum I downloaded the trial version of the mach5 analyzer. I have to say I'm impressed with the software and its reporting. I've seen there are a number of mach5 veterans on this forum hence my question.

I'm now running mach5 against a set of local log files which works great but I'd like to pick up the log file from the FTP.

I've seen how to do this and expect few problems with this but my question is where does mach5 store the log file for local use or does it leave the file on the server. I also noticed that it decompresses .gz files so I would expect it takes the most recent .gz file from the FTP and saves it to a local uncompressed file? It this correct and how much control do I have over this process?

It leaves the original log file on the server. You can save a report , based on your filtering, locally as a .fst file. You can also export the report as an excel file or as html.

Thanx Utica,

I'm just pulling the log files of the server now and analyze stuff locally as this gives more flexibility.
