I am sorry if this has been discussed.. I tried searching but extactly
how to search on this one I couldn't figure out.
Working on trying to ban Frxnt Pxge hacking attempts... I am starting to
now see the above creeping into my logs...
I know that there are misguided Frxnt Pxge downloads etc...
Do "we" think this a virus with the owssvr.dll...
or as stated in another thread by
jdMorgan...
"This is Microsoft's .NET stuff trying to set up a "remote sharing" session with your server. This is used for remote collaboration between multiple document authors. It appears on my site most often when someone is using the wrong program (i.e. not a browser) to view the site. If requests for a session fail, it falls back to plain old display-only mode.
Probably not a hack, just a right-click error, an incompetent user, or both"
I am seeing this come in from different ip/server locations .vt.edu and .bos.east.verizon.net but they may be connected...
As always thanks so much jd.. and the rest of the group.. I apologize if quoteing this is incorrect here... and please edit if so..
Thanks.
