I bother you again with Web Trends,
I would like to know how can I update my keywords ini file in Web Trends. I mean, how can I introduce Teoma, Wisenut, regional version of Google? Does it exist a site where i can find the update or can I make manually?

thanks again.

Hi Wolfy

Yes you can easily update search engines in Webtrends. You have to edit the keywords.ini file with something like this for Teoma:

[Teoma Search]
ID1=teoma.com
KeywordIndicator1=?terms=
KeywordIndicator2=&terms=

We edit it all the time to reflect the ever changing SE World. I think we just hit +400 SE's and directories. Not all of them are important but it's nice to decrease the "no referrer" bit.
Actually we sell the updated "knowledge file" to many of our clients. They love to know what SE's send them traffic and we use it to bill them :)

Thanks Rumbas,
I wanted to know if there is a site where can I take updates for every search engine or I have just to introduce a code like this
one for every search engine?

[Teoma Search]
ID1=teoma.com
KeywordIndicator1=?terms=
KeywordIndicator2=&terms=

bye

You're very welcome :)

You have to make an entry in you keywords.ini for every search engine.
We check our log files all time and when we spot what seems to be a search engine, we check it out and add the referrer string to the webtrends file if appropriate. You have to update the id list in the file as well.

Better get some of the real WT experts in here to tell you excactly how to "code" it.

I think JimWorld used to post a relatively current keywords.ini file. If you don't mind siging up for some kind of Email list, this site [aaxis.com]claims to have one for download

OK step 2, has anybody here got a copy of the file that they would not mind sharing ?

It would be most appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Rusky (and anyone else),
I don't have their copy, but I have my own keyword.ini file that I keep updated that I would be more that happy to send to you. If you would like it, send me an email (me email is in my profile) and I'll send it to you.

I've update the keyword.ini file to reflect the GoTo / Overture change. If anyone is interested, just email me and I'll send it to you.
