Why does spider go from Robots to Image?

Hi,
Recently a Scooter spider has been visiting my robots.txt file and then going directly to an image file and then ending it's visit. A few days later it will visit again and do the same again with another image. Why would it do this and why doesn't it go to the other pages instead - my robots.txt file does not dissalow anything?

Altavista has an image only spider. It's called "vscooter". If you don't want your images spidered you could disallow either vscooter or all the images.

ah that explains it - thanks for your reply - I don't suppose it does any harm to have the images spidered?
