Blocking a range of IP addresses

Can anyone tell me how to block a range of IP addresses. A spambot that has a range of 255 addresses has been hitting my website.

My hosting package includes cpanel with an IP Deny Manager, but it appears that only one address can be entered at a time. Needless to say, entering 255 addresses would be very labor intensive.

Any help will be appreciated!

In the IP deny, I would do something like:

****.xxx.xxx.*

That would block anything that starts with those 9 or whatever numbers.
