He doesn't care that there were 2,040 page impressions last week.... what he cares about is that there are MORE visitors last month than a year ago. Even better is to be able to give:
Conversion rate (over time)
ROI - Average revenue/profit per visitor (Over time)
Most MD's want (or should want) to isolate their business operations into just a few key metrics. A quick look at those metrics shoudl be able to tell the MD if and where problems in the business lie. Too much information to an MD is a sign that someone lower down didn't distill the important stuff out.
