.gz compressed files

My host's log files are in .gz compessed format. I am using a tool called WebLog Expert Lite to get a readout. It is a freebie.

Does anyone use a tool similar that reads these types of files? I was trying originally to use a tool from SmarterTools, but their program cannot read those files.

While I am asking. WebLog(unless I am missing something), only goes back 30 days for analyzing. My logs(so I have been told) are 20 weeks old. It would be nice to look back a few months. And I can't figure out anyway around downloading all of those log files(takes about an hour) to be analyzed each day. I'd think there is a way to only download what you don't already have.

Also, I would like to find a tool that shows unique visitors per day. WebLog shows daily counts of hits, visits, pageviews, etc. But unique ip's are just totalled for the month.

One last question. Is there a way to let a prospective advertiser look at your stats? I am assuming they would need a tool to analyze your log files? A matter of ftp'ing them?

Sorry so long.
Thanks.

.gz files are Gzipped files. Uncompress it with WinRar, and use a self-made log parser to view everything needed in the output in the format you desire.
