wusage sees referrals, Awstats doesn't

Hi guys,

I know that AWStats requires extended log format (forget the official name) instead of common log format for the http logs before they figure out keywords and search engines and referring sites.

AWStats breaks when I tell it I have the extended logs (including referral logs), but works fine if I set it for Commmon Log format.

However, Wusage (free from host) picks up the referrals just fine from the log format that I do have.

Changing the log format is not an option for me, using a shared hosting service.

Any ideas why AWStats won't work for this and wusage will?
