I have a brand new site that just got indexed by Google. Prior to the Google indexing, there was no traffic (other than bots), because the site was only a few days old and no one knew about it. It's safe to assume there would be no searches from browser bookmarks or people typing the URL into their browser. It's also safe to assume that ALL visitors to the site orignated from Google or it's search partners (like search.yahoo).

Out of 94 site visitors yesterday (excluding bots) there were 7 visitors that arrived without a referral. Here's a typical example from my logfile:

host131-126.pool8172.interbusiness.it - - [10/Sep/2003:09:37:13 -0400] "GET /product0005.htm HTTP/1.1" 200 6438 "-" "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0)"

From this information, can anyone suggest why those 7 visitors, which must have orignated from a Google or partners search, arrived without a referral?
