Is that possible to take a look at competitor's stats?
I remeber some posts about thtat...

Does alexa help in this case?
Is it possible to know other's site referers?

No, but thanks! Anyway I don't think that be possible, I've seen some webstats poking around SE's but I don't think a software would be legal.
Some search terms tricks may give some results but getting stats from a specific website of your interest, I don't think so. Am I right?

In some cases they have a link on their site to the webalizer or faststats. The hard part is when they dont have the links to those you have to find out how or if their isp provides them with webstats. Some of my customers dont even know how to read the simple stats. If you can figure out which program they are using you can look at their stats. However, you have to figure out how their isp/webmaster/ect. set up the program.
