Our situation: We are running one major website (splitted in 8 different parts with their own domain-name via virtual domains, but all of them accessing a single NotesDatabase) and additionally about 80 small partnersites (also virtual domains), all running on the same physical server.
We have to make a single report on each of the small sites plus several reports on the major sites (for different aspects), all on a daily basis.
The daily logfile is expected to be around 50MB.
The software needs to be able to filter for URL-Parameters like "...?nav=pk1".
(it would be really nice if the reports can include an extra table on parameters " *?nav=*pk1:345 hits; pk2:538 hits ", but we can do without)
Additionally, we need reports about spider activity and searchphrases listed by searchengine (which did it for Analog)
Anybody knows some software that can do this?
Right now we use WebTrends, but it gets unstable when we try to run more than 20 reports. NetTracker seems to be intended for single Domains.
What do you use out there? I am grateful for any suggestions...
My only wish so far is that I could customize the Search Engine list to add new ones. It comes pre-programmed with all the majors, but there are cases where I want it to recognize a new domain as a search engine so the kw's are extracted. Still, I see it on the refering domain report, and I can always Grep into the log to pull out the smaller ones.
I already had a look at WebFunnel but dropped it on the "not-what-we-need"-pile, although i forgot why.
(maybe the number of domains?)
But Mach5 looks very promising, I´m already testing the trial-version. I doubt our customers will be interested in any but the major search-engines so this will be fine.
I will report back on how it worked....
