Does anybody have any ideas on how to properly tag traffic from multiple domains that I own, so that when the hits from my sites show up in the client log file I can prove to them that this is unmistakenly our traffic? Any help would be great.

Sure. Call a specific page, or call a cgi on their site, or tag the link with a click through counter.

What about hits that do not come from remote sites but are referrers from SE traffic. Is there a way that both the client and SEO can determine these hits are from optimization work?

Usually those are done by providing the client with reports that show the placement you achieved for them by keyword and/or keyword phrase.

When a hit comes from an SE you've palced them in using those same keywords, it leaves little doubt.

Yes their should be little doubt, but i cloak my pages so theri seems to be some doubt on the cleint side. I would like to some how add a simple tag in the search engine referer, without changing the domain name I use or the file name. Do you guys get what I am saying. I think I sound confusing.
