hi,

I wanted to know if googlebot was accessing my site, it was taken off becuase someone had hacked into my site and placed a robots.txt file.

Its been off google for about 2 months now (since march update).

My webhosting company only let me see the last 4 digits of any ip adress. if anyone can tell me what googles ip address's are i would be greatful.

Thanks

1) You won't be able to tell if all you can see is the last four digits.

2) The IP addresses are easily available by doing a google search.

3) You need a new host.

The last four digits will be about as much use as an ashtray on a motorbike.

Contact then and ask if it would be possible to have acces to your rawlogs. If this is a no! then you might try using one of the third party remotely hosted tracking services. There are a few not bad low or no cost options available.

I seriously think I would concider finding a new hosting company though (as Chris_R said). They are not very secure and offer you very little in the way of service or support.

Do they allow you to see useragents?
Major SE bots can be identified by UA as well...
