Setting up a tracking url - do I set up a new page?

Yes, I'm a newbie. I would like to set up a tracking url.
For instance, on overture:
my website: www.widgets.com
my homepage: www.widgets.com/index.htm

Overture says to add "/?source=overture" (without the quotes) to the end of the url, so it would look like this:
www.widgets.com/index.htm/?source=overture

So am I changing the name of my original homepage, or do I set up a new page with the tracking url?

You don't change anything on your site. The tracking url will resolve to the page intended and then you can separate the Overture clicks in your log files because they will have the appended url.

BAD: (this will give you a 404 page not found):
www.widgets.com/index.htm/?source=overture
