Tracking Logs when not offered by hosting?

I'm relatively new to monitoring traffic patterns and am looking to find out if there is a way to monitor traffic logs when the hosting company doesn't offer it. New sites that I've launched I've been sure to add this function but old sites are still pretty primative in terms of services offered and I've been hesitatnt to make the change to a new server in fear of down time when certain engines crawl - not to mention lost money while the name servers change. I have a good idea where a lot of my traffic is coming from in regard to keywords but I'd like to have a good overall picutre of what's going on with my traffic.

Could someone recommend a service that may solve my problem?

As long as the servers keep access logs, you can get all the information with any offline log analyzer. Here is a good place to start:

You can use tracking via the placing of 1 x 1 pixel images on your pages.

Some that offer this are Indextools, Webtrendslive, Coremetrics. I personally use Indextools and love it. I'm still wary about putting a third part image but the quality of data you get is unbelievable.

I use the free program AXS from xav.com. It is not as comprehensive as analog (which I find over-analytical) or graphic-rich as some of the commercial programs.
