Tracking outgoing clicks

Is there a program to count links out, ignoring duplicates and bots?

Basically, i need a program to use to bill my customer on outgoing clicks.

I have to be sure i dont charge him for bot clicks and duplicate ip's.

Any ideas guys?

There's quite a lot of choice here [hotscripts.com]

A simple redirect script is pretty easy to set up, but blocking out bots and duplicates makes things a bit more complicated.

For the bots, probably the simplest way would be to block access to the redirect script using robots.txt - this will stop well behaved bots from 'clicking'. That's no help for bad bots though - so just ban them [webmasterworld.com] completely ;)

If none of the scripts you look at will automatically remove duplicates, hopefully they'll at least log the IP addresses of the clicks, and you could then load them into a spreadsheet to weed out the dupes.
