last year i used linkcounter's free service to track the clicks on specific text links that i had. but then they started charging for the service .. can anyone recommend some other free provider of link/click tracking services?

Most people here are serious about logging. That mandates a host with real live log files. Counters and external site counters are almost relegated to the novice only. There are a few exceptions to that of course (such as online malls), but going on a listing of counter services isn't one we'd do here.

Hit your favorite se on "free counters".

thanks brett ... the thing is though, these links are to external sites .. i have no control over them, so its not as though i could put the counter code and monitor them.

i just want to see how many clicks i am sending via these links. was trying to avoid having to invest $$$ in a banner software which i figure could do it :(
