PositionTech and FAST

How long does it take?

I have submitted a single page to FAST via positiontech to see if the results are cost effective.

After a week, I requested support from positiontech but have had no response. I am getting fed up and am seriously considering doing a chargeback on the transaction.

How long does it take to get listed, and how quick are positiontech at responding normally?

PT are normally very good at responding. Call them up!

FAST pages are normally indexed within 5 working days - but don't expect top rankings just because you paid them something!

Yes, call them up or log into your account and it will tell you if the URLs have been spidered or not.

Yeah, even if you pay them, its just to get indexed. They do not give priority to those who pay for rapid inclusion. Everyone gets ranked the same way.

Also, it takes about a week to finally get indexed in Fast.

I have been into the account and it is not indexed still (11 days now).

I also realise that ranking is completely irrelevant because I paid, I would be happy to be in position one million - at least I would be listed and could start to tweak the page to get better results, but I can't start that yet.

It is the first time that I have seen any trouble with PositionTech at all, I have used them for about a year for Inktomi and never had to request any support, pages have always been indexed when they said they would (refreshes are not that accurate though - sometimes takes 5/6 days and then gets refreshed for 4 days in a row! - but they do say 48 hours on AVERAGE, so I can't complain about that).

FAST seems to be the problem, but I was suprised that PT were taking so long. I may give them a call if they don't respond soon, thanks for that (you made me look - I did not realise they have a UK phone number).

So, PositionTech support are absolute B*LL*CKS.

I have given them 24 hours to give me answers or I will be charging back the transaction.

I won't be recommending them to anyone again.

Hey if you want to be absolutely sure about your listing in fast, use this:

url.all:http://www.yourdomain.com/

The lycos insite support group told me about this useful command. Best of luck with PT!

Maybe you should change supplier to Lycos instead of PT? The Lycos suppoprt people have always responded quickly and they have been extreemly helpfull whenever we have had something to complain about. We have used Lycos ever since this program was launched. ;)

PT is usually very good, FAST probably won't deliver much traffic anyway. You'll probably get more clicks form putting a site in your profile on WW. :) Ink is a better investment.

Eventually listed today. 17th Feb to 11th Mar. That's not quick.

I realise I'll get more traffic from Inktomi, which is why I currently have four pages in Ink, but just the one in FAST to see how it goes - FAST supply AllTheWeb, Tiscali and Lycos UK plus there own engine, so I was just experimenting with a single page to see how that goes.

Guys, Fast is actually pretty good these days with relevancy. Ever since they released the new version of alltheweb.com, their results have been super relevant and fast. Of course, Fast runs alltheweb.com and powers Lycos search. Anyways, I'm noticing more and more traffic from Fast.

Our experience with FAST isnīt that good as well - it takes much time to be spidered and indexed, sometime the same you said. Iīd assume that the problem is located at FAST and not at PosTech, we donīt have problems with them (only with the guidelines of the SEs PosTech provides...).

I really donīt think that FAST is that relevant in UK - we got less clicks from FAST than from AV or INK. But itīs necessary to be in there, at least due to the Lycos-network and the Tiscali-network.
