N Pictures found

After an AlltheWeb search the results page has a clickable link 'N Pictures found' under the heading 'Multimedia Results'.

Clicking the link gives 'Displaying results 1-9 of N pictures found' and 'Results: 1-9 10-18 19-27 28-36 37-45 46-54 55-63 Next »' etc.

Question: In what order are the pictures displayed?

Clarification: How does AlltheWeb decide which picture is in position 1, 2, 3, 4,.....N

Georgeek, I have frankly no idea. Never cared much about pic search, though it might be worthwile and bring in some traffic.
Looking at a couple of searches didn't really clue me in either...
Anybody got into this?
