CEO Mohn confirmed today that the restructuring of the group will be continued.
He told Manager Magazin [manager-magazin.de] that only half of the ca 40 different companies belonging to the group will survive.

This does not only include secondary brands like Hotbot or Spray. Even Lycos properties are endangered.

After shutting down Lycos Finland and Austria and cancellation of plans to open Lycos portals in Sitzerland and Portugal now the russian Lycos dependance might also get closed down.

And the rumors of Bertelsmann selling it's stakes to spanish Telefon giant Telefonica rise again.

Thats definetly a turn around from half a year ago, when they were apparently catching up with Yahoo, in profitability of their various enterprises, i don't think they were paying enough attention to MSN, which in my logs, for the last two months is above Yahoo, 2nd only to Google.
