Checking incoming links in Fast?

Presumably you can do this right?

it appears to me that link:http://www.domain.de is not the most appropriate syntax, it didn't show the inbound links for my domain which I know for the mostpart.

I tried: link.all:http://www.domain.de which provided more accurate results.

Have a try on it for evaluation, I am interested. ;-)

Fast is known to show almost all inbound links when using the link: command.

IMO Link.all shows both internal and external links and therefore not the "pure" external linkpop.

I think you are right but surprisingly for my own domain link:.... shows 6 inbound-links. link.all:... shows 47 links including all internal links to the homepage PLUS about 22 external links that are not listed with the simple link:... query.

weird, isn't it?

Bernie, you're absolutely right.
I've experimented a bit with the different ways of counting links in ATW.
For a very small site, example.com:
link:example.com: 5 results, no internal links
link.all:example.com: 48 results, internal links, all kinds of "dubious"* links

searchbox: example.com: 23 results, internal plus some "dubious" links
searchbox: www.example.com: 5 results, no internal links

So can we conclude from this that the difference between link.all: command and link: command shows links not given any weight in ranking?

*by "dubious" links I mean links from odp clones, one from a very small private homepage's linklist etc

Hello Heini,

I don't recognize this specific pattern. For both commands link: and link.all: I have good, valuable links on the SERP such as dubious Links. Some of them are even AOL/Fireball results.

In any case I can confirm that I have high-quality inbound links (e.g. from a customer's site with PR6) on the SERP using the link.all command. Well *gg* FAST is a very special SE.

Linda, AllTheWeb [alltheweb.com] is FAST's showcase and playground for advanced searchers.
You can use the regular searchbox and type
link:www.example.com
link.all:example.com

you can also use the advanced search. Play around with the options - you can even search for IPs. Have fun!

Another point I'd love to have some clarification:
Stopwords and size of index. FAST doesn't utilize stopwords. Does that imply you have to store more indexed text as you'd have to when using stopwords? Is that a limiting factor to increasing your index?
