Any ideas what this is appearing above the fast and ODP driven results?

Well bonus.com is a "network of family entertainment attractions", aimed at kids and owned by Appaloosa Interactive [appaloosacorp.com]. There is an old news story on the link with lycos here [industry.java.sun.com].

It seems that Lycos is showing results from the bonus site on a range of educational/informative keywords, if such content exists. For example for "safari" bonus is shown, "jungle" is not, "rainforest" it is and "desert" is not.

I don't know how important your keyword is to you but if you have an "educational" site [or one that could be knocked together, they *like* pictures, don't mind free web hosts and a "good" site title helps with rank] "You can send site recommendations to our editorial staff via email to [e-mail]", or try and swap links with the listed sites.
