So does anyone have a short list on % of use, in Europe for fast, broke down by country.
Maybe this should be in the European forum !
if not will have to scower Rencke's and other contributors lists in their forum.
here is the list of Fast partners worldwide [webmasterworld.com], needs some updating though
I'm Director Account Management here at FAST. I'd be happy to give you as much detail as I can (which isn't that much owing to customer confidentiality). In any event, depending on how you count it by the time we have fully deployed T-Online and the other big deals we are closing right now, in Europe we should be powering over 75% of all OEM European query traffic. If you then add in our ATW traffic (which has a lot of European coverage) that number rises again. Sorry but we can't give exact distributions country by country. Our biggest reach is Germany followed by UK, France, Spain etc. We have great coverage in Scandinavia...even Russia is growing fast. So you may well get FAST originated results from almost anywhere.
Please feel free to contact me directly if you wish.
Very best
Tim
I appreciate yours and Heini comments, you said >Our biggest reach is Germany, this country i am intersted in fro future web venture's, would you say that you are competting with the like's of Infoseek.de in numbers of regulars and unique visitors
Well....again, without going into individual customer details...we already power Lycos Europe, and as noted earlier we are now deploying with the biggest German ISP, T-Online (replacing Infoseek as search provider). We also power Web.de....and there is at least one more shoe to drop;-). Add that lot up and you can readily see that we have the lions share in Germany.
Hope that helps

Can I also ask about your much heralded 'pay for regular spidering/inclusion program'.
Obviously I have seen information on FAST regarding your 'partner program' for extremely large sites, but wondered if you had any plans for a 'pay by page' program for smaller sites?
My heart hopes that the answer is 'no' - your site is extremely important to me for the quality of its results and for the excellent response I/we have seen in this forum to 'abusers' of the rules.
My head says probably 'yes', and I for one would like to know about this and have some info for planning purposes before you launch.
Some search resources (no names, no packdril), launch a program such as this out of the blue, or raise prices without warning and only think to inform AFTER the event has taken place and word has filtered down via the good people of forums like this.
This course of action would at least allow us to plan for the future, with Fast as an integral part of our planning.
Hope all these questions won't make you regret coming to his Forum!
Regards
Markd
PartnerSite went 'live' as a beta (can you have a live beta?) Monday. Check it out here: [partnersite.fastsearch.com...] Please register and see how you get on. Feedback is much appreciated. It's designed for the little and large and priced accordingly. For one page $30 for the year to be 24 hr fresh is a pretty good deal. We will naturally continue to spider as before. We will not be punishing/deleting the non subscriber;)
Many businesses and other folk want to know they are always in and always fresh, without the hassle of constantly submitting and hoping for the best....and for $30 we are already getting a lot of interest.
Hope this helps

Good point. Lycos Europe is doing the Euro Beta. They haven’t got their site up yet….Should be next week. Meantime come in through ATW. You and your feedback will be most welcome.
