Simply on the basis of this: "Copyright 1994-2001 Galaxy.com, LLC" I thought "LLC" was used by UK corporations only. Wrong?

"LLC" is a relatively new (10yrs or less) form of corporate structure in the States. Limited Liability Company. I use one for my web operations.

Fast supplies all the Lycos sites around the world. Is it ok to individually submit to each of the international Lycos sites. That is, submit to their local directories just like you would submit to each AV local directory?

Picked the thing about WorldOnLine/Tiscali off a pressrelease. Interesting. Never heard about Janas before and you haven't either I guess. Checked it out and a search that gives 312.000 pages in Fireball and 222.000 in Lycos.de gives 67.000 in Janas. So they clearly have an index other than Fast's.

We have also been working with Elsevier Science [elsevier.nl] to power the Scirus [scirus.com] search engine for scientific information. This is a Dutch subdivision of a large Dutch-British corporation called Reed Elsevier [r-e.com].

all national Lycos sites have in the meantime switched to using Fast results.
Might be useful to update this thread as not to confuse people, making them think Fast is only about alltheweb :)

Fast also provides results to ah-ha.com which also provides results to other engines (which can include fast results), and at least one of the engines ah-ha provides results to provides those results to a lot of smaller engines.

Well since i have been a member, only one proponent has consitantly proposed Fast as a major heavyweight now and in the future, Brett i do believe. Thanks to Renck, for providing the evidence.

Fast is very important, the list is to convincing not to take Fast in a similar vain as Google.

Caine, Fast is undoubtedly a heavyweight from a non US perspective. In europe Fast has continuosly gained reach, now with the overall exposure via lycos it can only be rivaled by Google. That said, US members for sure have Fast on the list for the near future.
