Actually the way I read this is the spending is the same as 2000 for ads., OK. With all the dot coms failing wouldn't that really suggest that with less of a base the spending is going to remain the same hence suggesting a growth (even though the $$ amount being spent is the same)?

If it is growing, then where are all the ads going? Advertising companies such as Burst and Flycast are showing mostly defaults with hardly any paid ads. Most other advertising companies are laying off workers or shutting down. It doesn't make sense if it's growing.
