How much did you make for every unique visitor that you sent Amazon?

How much did everyone make from Amazon this quarter that just ended, on every unique click?

Has anyone made reasonable money selling apparel?

I made a paltry 2 cents per visitor and haven't linked to Apparel yet.

about $0.035 per unique visitor sent there from just a few book links. Most people don't even seem to buy the books I link to, and I don't really make a concerted effort to make amazon a big part of my site.

2.5 cents per unique. It's better for the ego to look at it as $2.50 EPC (EPC=Earnings Per 100). :)

Contrary to other's experience, 75% of what I sold, I specifically promoted on my sites.

95% of sold stuff are the books I explicitly promote. The rest is all kind of weird stuff, including Harry Potter's toys, kitchen furniture, MP3 players and so on. Unfortunately, noone bought a Segway via my link yet :)

All in all, the amount of purchased goods that you do not promote depends on the volume of your clicks - the more you send, the more you get. For me, approx 1 in every 1000 unique clicks purchases something non-book related.

I was around the 2.7 - 2.9 mark.

Again, i havent put much effort into marketing their stuff - and i havent sent that many visitors their way.

However, I am pleased that im keeping up with industry standards on cent per click! :)

I do 20x better with an affiliate at CJ, though their selection doesn't overlap much with Amazon. (Niche product+Good ranking= :) )

16.7 cents/visitor, but that was using a shopping list type of database-driven application.

I didn't realize that, even with a neat trick, my PPC rates are well-below banner-ad PPC rates.

i used to be an affiliate a couple of years back - might still be one. i found the commissions were a very poor return on the effort required so i gave up and removed all links. i have a couple of new information-only sites of my own to launch and might stick a few amazon book links in there. but will it be worth it? well, i won't lose anything from it and i won't make much effort with it so we'll just have to wait and see .....

Take a week and write yourself some good scripts using AWS (Web services) and once you're done, you can add Amazon stuff that automatically updates, has a much higher conversion rate (my AWS buy buttons are about 20% conversion rate), and there's nothing to do. (Plus, if you do it right, you've got some chaning content on your site for Freshbot to feed off of).

that would be much appreciated grumpus. i'm mainly working in PHP these days but we do ASP as well, so we might do a site in ASP or could convert code etc. we can't do much for a couple of months cos we've got too much work on so i'll get back to you nearer the time.
