With all of CJ's upgrading they are effecting my site. Their links are taking a long time to load (their tracking images really). What is wrong? They go down without much notice. Anyone know what their problem is? very disappointing. I can't even get to their site.

Hi Korkus

CJ should be up again now

they had scheduled downtime between 11am and 1pm (PST) today.

The images are on different servers so the downtime should not effect the banners but it does every now and then, dont ask me why :)

They seem to be having a lot of maintenance. Do you know why? They seem to be having a lot of problems. It would be nice to get email notification. They can send newsletters but not important business information about their services. :(

not sure, but I know they have recently changed (this month) the way they process batch orders, might be something to do with this.

They do seem to be down a lot for the last couple of weeks.

Yes they send plenty of crap in emails, it wouldnt take a lot to send email notifications of downtime, I have suggested this once to them but never got a reply.

Their sites down again. Their smartzones are not working either. Man they need to get it together.

I see no reason for this thread.
Sites have problems from time to time.

This reminds me of the useless Google dance threads.

I would have hoped that affiliate marketers would have something better to do.

imho

On a related note, I hope ... I just joined CJ a week or so ago because a certain merchant in their stable is the first to offer the latest version of a certain product, a product which I KNOW will sell like hotcakes through affiliate links on my site because last year's version was extremely popular (and it's an annual product).

Anyway, I've checked stats a couple times since the new links were posted and it looks like there are a ton of impressions and a very healthy amount of click-thrus, just as I expected. But CJ is saying there have been ZERO sales made. I just refuse to believe that, and I'm thinking about pulling the link.

Is this a common problem? Is their reporting usually reliable? I haven't tried the support/contact emails yet, but if they're having as many problems as it sounds like they're having, I'm not optimistic.

I am not monitoring their site. I am getting my sites back online. Im sure when others find they have to pull links from their pages because they are not serving up tracking images this will not be true. I had to spend an hour yanking cj affiliates. When sites using cj smartzones are down (and I am sure their are a lot) this is a huge problem.

They seem to be pretty reliable with their reporting (up until recently because of down time). They are having peoblems but hopefully we will see them sort it out.

With all due respect, not all affiliate companies have the same problems being described in this thread (even before my previous post) and I would think this information might be beneficial to someone who's considering whether or not to join programs via CJ.

I was interested to learn from the earlier post that their images are served from different servers -- very helpful to know because CJ uses a tracking GIF on all its affiliate links, and I really dislike this method of affiliate linking.

The experience and frustrations of their existing users, even for something as basic as site downtime, can be helpful and makes this thread useful, IMO.

Poor conversions is very common with CJ. I have a site not using the networks that currently is converting one out of nine unique visitors. On CJ I'm luck to convert one in three hundred, and I know I'm doing things right.

Well, it does affect the sites Mike, I have often had to remove CJ banners (especially smartzones) from sites just so the pages would load.

IMO it's quite a problem, yeah all sites go down but in the last 2/3 weeks it seems that CJ has been down every few days !

all IMHO of course :)

Go60guy, I have some CJ stuff that converts well and some that doesn't. I think it all has to do with the industry, competitiveness, cost of products, etc. and very little to do with CJ. I see similar trends on BeFree, Linkshare and private affiliate programs.
