</wind-up> :)

Actually, what I want to do is create an affiliate program that *doesn't* come over like a get-rich-quick scheme.

Any ideas?

I want to offer affiliates high margins (40% on big ticket services - payment on sale/sucessful billing).

Are there any reasonably priced software tracking tools anyone can suggest? I don't think I'll need anything complicated as I only need to keep a track of where the sucessful lead came from.

Personally recruit the affiliates who already have a site that should be able to sell your products. Review the prospective sites, then send them a personalized email and follow that up with a phone call (if their number is listed on the site) and you should be able to do quite well as good webmasters/affiliate marketers are always looking to earn some extra $$.

[hotscripts.com...] and [cgi-resources.com...] are a couple of nice sites that should have a low cost solution to what you are looking for in the way of software.

If you let the sites you want as affiliates know what kind of conversions you get that will help entice them (but only if you get good conversions).
